Unrestrained To Think And Feel by British contemporary artist Danny O’Connor is one of five paintings inspired by a poem on freedom written by the artist, with each work taking its title from an individual line. Through two female figures shown with closed eyes and upturned faces, O’Connor explores freedom as an internal state: the ability to think and feel without restraint.

A white outlined dove introduces associations with peace, freedom and spirituality, while white roses bring ideas of love, purity and renewal into the composition. O’Connor layers acrylic, spray paint, sand texture and paint marker, combining delicate linear details with richly textured passages of turquoise, blue, copper and earthy brown.

The contrast between the tactile surface and upward-facing figures reinforces the painting’s central idea: freedom is presented not as escape, but as a liberation of thought and emotion.
