Biography
France
Following her graduation from the Versailles Architectural School in 2013, Cadet left her agency job to professionally dedicate herself to art - her first passion. In November 2014, Marion Cadet was selected to attend the “Salon des Artistes Français” at the Grand Palais in Paris. There, her peers awarded her with a bronze medal.

Inspired by women of her generation, Black & White artworks is fundamentally part of the artist’s research on contemporary femininity. Black and White emphasise the contrast between the dark marks on bright background and the expression of the ephemeral, but intense, feelings. The contradiction also lies in the details: the rough technique reveals both sketched and photographic aspect questioning the legitimacy to paint a snapshot.
