SPAIN
Adolfo Arenas Alonso was born in Seville, Spain. The artist studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts (Santa Isabel de Hungría) in Seville. Having specialised in drawing, his preferred form of art soon turned into an absorbing creative endeavour and, eventually, an obsession.
Arenas’s art focuses on the decadence of beauty and the vintage aesthetic. The protagonists of his works exude the impression of being great figures of noble bearing from the past. The artist firmly adheres to the pencil realism technique. The use of this method ensures that the deformities of the characters are exaggerated, while the subjects and the surrounding objects remain in stylistic contrast.
