After attending art school in Bristol and Bournemouth, he moved to London, where his new surroundings heavily impacted his work. In this densely populated urban setting, Morant is steadily making a name for himself as an accomplished painter of the built environment and the people within it.
Working with oil paint, his evolving process explores the deconstructive analysis of traditional themes, such as legacy and impact. His recent collection, Allegories of the Past, Present and Future, explores humanity's capacity to meet challenges and face up to its future. Morant notes that “playing on the border between clarity and suggestion, my work prioritises the intuitive application of paint to capture the viscosity of light and insecurity of form”.
