Adolfo Arenas Alonso was born in Seville, Spain. The artist studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts (Santa Isabel de Hungría) Seville. Specialising in drawing, it soon became his preferred medium. Alonso found it an absorbing creative endeavour and, eventually, an obsession.
Arenas' art focuses on the decadence of beauty and the previous era's aesthetic. The protagonists of his works exude the impression of being figures of the noble bearing from history. The artist firmly adheres to the pencil realism technique; this technique ensures that the deformities of the characters remain exaggerated while the subjects and the surrounding objects remain in stylistic contrast.
