Clandestinos (1987), directed by Fernando Pérez, follows a group of young Cubans involved in the underground struggle against the Batista dictatorship during the 1950s. At its centre is the relationship between Ernesto and Nereida, whose love develops alongside their increasingly dangerous political activities.
The ICAIC poster was designed by Julio Eloy and is particularly striking for its image of two bleeding red hearts against a black background, visually combining romance, danger and political struggle.
