An evening with acclaimed cityscape artist Caio Locke at COMO The Halkin, Belgravi

Eclectic Gallery London, in collaboration with COMO The Halkin, presents COMO Conversation: Caio Locke, an intimate evening dedicated to the visionary cityscapes of Anglo-Brazilian artist Caio Locke.

Locke’s intricate, dreamlike urban worlds have earned him international recognition. His work has been shown at Christie’s, the National Museum of Scotland and the Royal Hospital Chelsea, with a landmark solo exhibition at the Embassy of Brazil in London, a show the eminent art critic Edward Lucie-Smith described as one that “knocks one’s preconceptions sideways”. His public commissions include the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, the London Elephant Parade and the BFG Dream Jar project with Steven Spielberg.

Recently profiled by Artnet and a category winner of Jackson’s Open Painting Prize, Locke paints cities not simply as physical places but as reflections of memory, culture and collective consciousness, immersive compositions where cityscapes, imagination and speculative futures collide. His practice is shaped by a childhood spent between London and Rio de Janeiro; after qualifying as a lawyer, he realised his true calling lay in art and has worked as a full-time artist since 2007. Working mainly in acrylics and oils, and drawing on a formative background in etching, he combines meticulous colour handling, layered historical and cultural references, and multiple perspectives to build compositions of remarkable depth. His paintings are collected internationally and held in private and corporate collections.

The setting could not be more fitting: COMO The Halkin, London’s original luxury boutique hotel, tucked away on a quiet Belgravia street moments from Hyde Park Corner. Behind its Georgian façade, the hotel’s serene, Milanese-designed interiors offer an elegant backdrop in which to experience Locke’s work up close.

Guests will view a curated selection of new and recent paintings, meet the artist, hear him speak about his ideas and process, and join an informal conversation exploring cities, consciousness and imagined futures.
